How to Join
If you are interested in joining Troop 455 or 8455, please email [email protected] for additional information. You are invited to attend one of our meetings where you can see the scouts in action. Click here to complete an online application to join when you are ready!
Troop Size
We have approximately 50 scouts in Troops 455 and 8455 combined.
What is the difference between 455 and 8455?
Troop 455 is for boys and Troop 8455 is for girls. Anyone between the ages 11-17 are welcome to join. Troops 455 and 8455 work together and have many joint activities. Both 455 and 8455 follow the same program. All scouts learn essential camping and life skills. If they commit to the program, they all have a chance to earn the Eagle Scout award.
Fundraising
Our primary money raising venture is our Scout Pancake Breakfast. Held in the Spring at the Fairwood Community United Methodist Church, we typically serve 300 hungry customers. Many of the food items are generously donated by local businesses. We also collect Christmas trees for donations in early January, and we sell popcorn in the Fall.
Annual Activities
Troop 455/8455 scouts participate in a wide variety of activities, many have occurred annually for many years, others are new and never tried before. The troop typically has one outing per month. Some of the troop activities include:
